Bi-Gender

Someone who displays characteristics  associated with both genders. I.e. Their birth gender and its opposite.

Birth Gender.

Gender assigned at birth based on the Doctor's best guess at the time. Usually based on the visible plumbing.

CD

Short form for Cross-Dresser

Male to Female Bi-Genders. Also used to describe M2F Transsexuals, who have not completed sexual-reassignment surgery.

Cross-Dresser

Someone who derives satisfaction from dressing in clothing normally reserved for the opposite gender.

Drag

Drag is a theatrical term to describe cross dressing on stage. The term is generally associated with the  more flamboyant examples of cross dressing. 

Drag King

Drag kings are Female to Male cross-dressers. However this term is generally reserved for performers.

Drag Queen

Drag queens are Male to Female cross-dressers. However this term is generally reserved for performers.

The "queen" aspect is also a reference to sexual orientation. While many drag queens are orientated towards genetic males, this is not always the case.

En Femme

A universally polite way of describing the current outside expression of femaleness. This is  regardless of birth gender. 

From the French, literally "as a woman". Pronounced "on fem"

Example: 

A  Male To Female bi-gender while cross dressed would be considered "En Femme"

A Female to Male bi-gender while not cross dressed would also be considered "En Femme"

En Homme

A universally polite way of describing the current outside expression of maleness. This is  regardless of birth gender. 

From the French, literally "as a man". Pronounced "on om"

Example: 

A  Female To Male  bi-gender while cross dressed would be considered "En Homme"

A Male to Female bi-gender while not cross dressed would also be considered "En Homme"

F2M

Female to Male bi-gender. by convention, the birth gender is first with the spiritual gender second.

Gender Dysphoria

Term to describe personal discomfort and dissatisfaction with birth gender.

From the Greek Dys (difficult) Phoria (to bear)

We feel this is an inadequate description

Gen Em

Genetic Male, also expressed as GM. This usually refers to the birth gender of the individual.

Gen Fem

Genetic Female. Also expressed as G.F. This usually refers to the birth gender of the individual.

Hermaphrodite

A condition where the person displays physical characteristics of both genders (usually genitalia) This can be congenital (at birth) or through sexual reassignment surgery (SRS)

Spiritual Gender

Beyond the physiology, beyond the clothes, beyond the behavior. The person we are inside.

M2F

Male to female bi-gender. by convention, the birth gender is first with the spiritual gender second.

SRS

Sexual Reassignment Surgery. Cosmetic Surgery that constructs genitalia of the opposite sex.

Transsexual

Someone who wishes to "cross over" to the other gender.

Based on today's technology, this is a permanent choice.

Transvestite.

Latin term for cross-dresser. Trans=Cross, Vestes=Clothes
